Day 013: Draw Every Day in 2024

It’s bright and sunny 😎 but very cold here in central France.

A pencil drawing. A robot has an antenna and a couple of cameras coming out of holes within it’s square head. It is waving it’s arms at a similar robot in the distance

Today, I drew these robots based on a video lesson by Mark Kistler! Check Out Mark’s YouTube channel for this lesson and many more.

My drawing was sountracked by Under Mountains an album by Rachel Sermanni and also the album Jubilee Road by Tom Odell

We have B&B guests arriving today, so we’ll be getting things ready for them, today.

What are your plans?

I hope you have a lovely start to the week.

Day 012: Draw Every Day in 2025

Good morning!

How are you all doing this fine Sunday?

It’s cold here today, but hopefully that will mean we get some winter sun ☀️.

A pencil drawing of some flags (or ribbons)

My drawing today is based on a Mark Kistler lesson (dedicated to me!) check it out on Mark’s YouTube channel

The soundtrack to my drawing was the album Monsters by Tom Odell

I hope you have a lovely day!

Day 011: Draw Every Day in 2025

Hello everyone!

Bit of a dull start to the weekend (weather-wise): overcast, damp.

Not that I knew what it was like when I started drawing this morning (just after 7am) with the fire alight and curtains drawn…

Today’s drawing is a mermaid, based on a tutorial by Mark Kistler (Check Out his YouTube channel here)

My drawing was sountracked by two albums by Tom RosenthalWho’s That In The Fog; and Keep A Private Room Behind The Shop

I hope you have a lovely Saturday 💓

My drawing today is based on the tutorial by Mark Kistler (Check out his YouTube channel here)

The drawing, this morning, was sountracked by two albums by Tom RosenthalDon’t Die Curious and Fenn

The day got away from me and I had to finish it this evening (soundtracked by Radio 6Music)…

Hope your Friday is wonderful!

Day 009: Draw Every Day in 2025

Hello everyone!

Today, I drew this:

It’s based on a lesson from the book “Drawing in 3D with Mark Kistler”.

Today’s drawing was soundtracked by the album Build a Problem by Dodie

I started the drawing at 7am but didn’t finish it before serving the B&B guests their breakfast, then taking the cat to vets to check his glucose levels (he’s diabetic and on twice daily insulin injections!). I finished it, just now, after lunch.

I hope you have a great Thursday!

Day 008: Draw Every Day in 2025

Hello everyone!

Today, I completed another lesson from the book “Drawing in 3D with Mark Kistler”.

I added the egg shells. They should have been larger or, better yet, placed behind the egg… Another lesson learned… hopefully!

Today, the soundtrack to drawing was provided by the single “Last Week’s Echos” by Yvonne MK, the album, “Half Songs by Sophie May, the EP “I wish I had a God” by Hohnen Ford, and the album “Growing Pains” by Sammy Copley, all artists that have written and performed end songs on the podcast Strangers on a Bench.

I hope your Wednesday treats you well.

Day 007: Draw Every Day in 2025

Hello everyone!

Here is my morning drawing.

It is based on a lesson in the book “Drawing In 3D with Mark Kistler”. I can recommend this book (and his others) if you want to start drawing.

My drawing was sound tracked by a couple of singles by Maddie Ashman, Everyone’s Remembered and Lonely Button, an EP by Augusta, I don’t think I do and the album Chapter Street by Alex Brenchley. All these artists have composed and performed end songs for the podcast, Strangers on a Bench which I love and recommend.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Day 006: Draw Every Day in 2024

I drew this, this morning.

Today’s drawing is based on a lesson from Mark Kistler’s book “Drawing in 3D with Mark Kistler”. I really recommend this book, it has hundreds of drawings with clear steps on how to draw them. I’ve almost finished it and it’s helped me break down a scene so now I don’t need the step by step instructions.

My morning drawing session was sountracked by 2 albums by Tom Odell:

Black Friday and Best Day Of My Life.

Have a fantastic Monday!

Day 005: Draw Every Day in 2025

Hello everyone!

I hope your Sunday is as good as you need it to be.

This morning, I drew this picture of a T Rex, based on a drawing tutorial by Mark Kistler (I’ve been learning to draw with Mark for a year now). Check out his YouTube channel here.

My drawing was sountracked by a couple of albums by Chris BrainSteady Away and Bound to Rise. I really enjoyed them so I headed over to Bandcamp to buy them and preorder the new album. I try to support artists by buying their work not just streaming.

After drawing I did some exercises and then began to stack the wood that was delivered yesterday. Listened to a couple of podcasts (Atlas Obsura, This American Life, and The Moth) while stacking.

I’m taking a break now, just had late breakfast (midday!), and drinking a coffee while posting this. I’ll be back to stacking afterwards.

Have a great day, whatever you get up to !

Big Love and Hugs ❤️
